BANGKOK - Informa Markets
Thailand has announced the success of ProPak Asia 2026, which attracted more
than 80,000 visitors globally and generated over 5.5 billion baht in trade and
business negotiations. The event reinforced Thailand's position as Asia's
strategic hub for manufacturing, innovation, and food, beverage, and packaging
technologies. The organizer also announced plans to elevate the 2027 edition
into a world-class comprehensive exhibition by co-locating with Asian Paper
Bangkok and LOUPE Southeast Asia 2027.
Mr. Sanchai
Noombunnam, Country General Manager of Informa Markets Thailandand
organizer of ProPak Asia 2026, attributed the event's success to its relocation to the
IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Muang Thong Thani, spanning over
60,000 square meters. The exhibition featured over 2,500 brands showcasing
machinery and innovative solutions, alongside 13 international pavilions
representing South Korea, China, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, France,
the UK, North America, India, Italy, Australia, and Bavaria.
Mr. Sanchai noted that the
event serves as a gateway to knowledge, investment opportunities, and global
technology access for the Thai and Asean manufacturing sectors. It particularly
enables small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups to tangibly
transition from traditional methods to high-value, tech-driven production.
The innovations displayed
reflect the industry's shift towards Industry 5.0, or
"Hyper-Intention" production, which emphasizes collaboration between
humans and artificial intelligence (AI) for smarter, more accurate, and
flexible processes. Key technology highlights that drew significant interest
from operators included:
·Live
Working Lines demonstrating full-scale smart production operations in
real-time.
·A
Digitalization & AI Zone featuring data-driven technologies, Digital Twins,
and collaborative robots (Cobots).
·Modern
business strategies encouraging the adaptation to modular hubs for increased
agility, as well as the "Glo-Cal" (Global Expertise, Local Sourcing)
strategy.
ProPak Asia 2027 is scheduled
for June 9-12, 2027, at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, with an upgraded goal of
becoming the number one processing and packaging exhibition in the Asia-Pacific
region. The 2027 edition will uniquely integrate two major trade shows:
·Asian
Paper Bangkok 2027,
focusing on paper and pulp technology, corrugated paper production, and
regional recycling technologies that answer global megatrends.
·LOUPE
Southeast Asia 2027,
which will highlight label products, mid-web flexible packaging, inline folding
carton converting, and printing technologies.
Combining these three events
on a single platform will create an unprecedented "One-Stop
Exhibition" in the region, covering the entire upstream-to-downstream
supply chain of food, beverage, packaging, paper, and label printing—from raw
materials and production processes to smart logistics and warehousing.
Exhibition space will expand by an additional 15%, and advance space bookings
have received highly positive feedback, with over 80% already reserved by
global participants.
Ms. Luciana Pellegrino,
President of the World Packaging Organization (WPO), praised the event's success,
stating that Thailand has demonstrated its potential as Asean's strongest
packaging industry hub, particularly in eco-friendly materials that respond to
the shift towards a sustainable industry. She noted that ProPak Asia perfectly
connects the global packaging ecosystem by providing in-depth knowledge and
linking the global packaging stage with regional development. The WPO confirmed
its full readiness to continuously support ProPak Asia 2027 to elevate it as an
international platform for technology exchange, business networking, and
in-depth sustainability knowledge.
