DRINK INDUSTRY CONTINUES MOVING FORWARD
Rapid urbanization and increasing disposable income of consumers are two factors leading the expansion of the beverage market, which is expected to reach USD 1.9 trillion in 2021 with a CAGR of 3.0%.
Asia is seeing the highest growth rate in the global beverage market – dominating two-thirds of total forecasted market growth over the next three years. China alone will push one third of this increase thanks to its massive population. Other promising markets include India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Vietnam and Thailand. Compared to the global beverage market, Thailand’s growth rate of 4.9% is seen as considerably high over the past five years. The soft drink market alone was estimated at USD 7,724 million (THB 270,350 million) in 2016 and has an anticipated CAGR of 3.9% until 2021. The highest growth rate is in the bottled water sector, followed by concentrates and juices respectively.
